Azlan Zahid, Ph.D., is a Texas A&M AgriLife Research assistant professor of controlled-environment agriculture engineering. Zahid joined the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University in August 2021 after completing his doctorate in agricultural and biological engineering with a focus on artificial intelligence and robotics at The Pennsylvania State University. Zahid’s lab’s mission is to provide engineering solutions for CEA. Current research focuses on precision agriculture technologies including edge-AI systems, robotics, computer vision, and automation, applied towards the autonomy of the CEA facilities.
