Prabina Bhattarai, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral researcher at the Texas A&M AgriLife Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture, IHA. Her research focuses on how environmental and nutritional factors influence maternal and offspring health, with a particular interest in developmental programming and its role in long-term chronic disease.
Bhattarai earned her Ph.D. in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences from Montana State University, where she conducted a clinical trial investigating the effects of dietary oils on acute, exercise-induced oxidative stress markers and plasma lipidomes. Prior to her doctoral studies, she completed a master’s degree in Global Health at the University of Bergen, Norway, conducting a cross-sectional study on the prevalence and risk factors of overweight and obesity among women in Nepal. Drawing on a multidisciplinary background, she aims to further explore how early-life exposures and lifestyle choices shape lifelong metabolic health, with the ultimate goal of informing effective interventions to improve public health.
