About the study

The Greater Texas Community Panel is a representative group of adults from four of the largest counties in Texas: Dallas, El Paso, Hidalgo and Tarrant. The panel will provide new insights into residents’ health and well-being, helping to guide efforts to better support community needs. Initial surveys explore Healthy Living, Responsive Agriculture and Precision Nutrition.

The panel is a collaboration between the Texas A&M AgriLife Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture, Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research.

Scientific collaboration

The Greater Texas Community Panel, GTCP, is funded primarily by the Texas A&M AgriLife Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture, in collaboration with Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research. The GTCP encourages outside investigators to take advantage of GTCP data to address new research questions or address old questions in new ways. It encourages collaboration on studies that leverage the cohort for new research relevant to Healthy Living, Responsive Agriculture and Precision Nutrition.

News and findings

Findings from the GTCP are shared in scientific literature, through newsletters, and other publications.
