Diet exposure assessment project
Innovating nutrition science
When it comes to food, diets and our health, a one-size-fits-all approach is not appropriate. To make food the solution to health, we need new innovations and discoveries in Precision Nutrition to allow individuals to take ownership of their health and increase their quality of life free of chronic disease.
The Individualized Diet Exposure Assessment (IDEA) Center will take an innovative approach to advance the science of Precision Nutrition through major research in three key areas:
- Diet Assessment: Measuring factors that connect diet and health including what, when and how much we eat.
- Biomarkers: Looking at someone’s chemical and biological make-up to establish links between what we eat and health. Wearable devices have transformed the way people think about their exercise habits and we need similar devices for nutrition and health.
- Data Science: Tapping into artificial intelligence and machine learning to gather large amounts of information on individual health behaviors and then taking what we learn to help people change food habits to reduce their risk for chronic disease.
