Healthy School Recognized Campus (HSRC) Program
Principal Investigator: Jacob Szeszulski, Ph.D.
Healthy School Recognized Campus is an initiative from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in which schools complete a school-wide walking challenge, one youth program, and one adult program within one school year. Youth and adult programs range in topics (e.g., physical activity, gardening, mental health) and duration (e.g., 12-week 30-minute lessons, single day all-day showcases). The HSRC study aims to develop and test strategies to improve the impact of evidence-based programs on metabolic risk factors in diverse youth in elementary schools.
